While here Honore met with members of the Rotary Club South, Rotary Club of St Vincent and Rotary Club of Bequia, where he made presentations to the organizations, and brought greetings from Rotary Club International president Ron Burton.

At a special dinner held on Wednesday at the Grenadine House, the Martinique native, elected to the post in 2011, commended the St Vincent and Club South groups for their ongoing initiatives, and encouraged them to work towards making their organizations stronger.

“With stronger clubs we can have better projects for greater impact in our societies and our communities. This will increase membership and have greater global reach… When we do that, we enhance the public image of Rotary International, and increase contributions and have even stronger clubs.”

Honore also outlined the Rotary International organization’s goals for the year 2013-2014, which includes working on global membership, continuing the fight against polio, a youth drive, and creating active websites from each of the clubs.

President of the Rotary Club St Vincent Earl Tash, thanked Honore for visiting the three groups, and along with the Club South, presented Herve with gifts and tokens.

The District Governor also presented Tash and Club South representative Glenda Joyette with gifts.

Also at the function, former Digicel island manager Sonia Polius was pinned as a Rotary Club team player.(JJ)
