SJCM Elite Business Club hosts leadership seminar

July 25 and 26, 2013 marked another milestone for the SJCM Elite Business Club, as they held their first ever leadership seminar at the St Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, under the theme “Forming Tomorrow’s Leaders Today”.{{more}} The seminar was geared towards developing the leadership skills of the board of advisors, the executive committee and the chairpersons of other committees. Over the two days, some 18 club members, along with a representative of the George Stephens Senior Secondary School Business Club, participated in sessions that helped to hone their leadership skills.

The opening presenter, Phebe Smart of the George Stephens Snr Secondary Business Club, had a very interactive session on the essential skills for tomorrow’s leaders to function efficiently. Other sessions were held on conflict resolution – a necessary trait of a good leader, effective time management, an essential characteristic of a good leader and motivating young entrepreneurs – the leaders of tomorrow.

Participants were encouraged to use the skills and information gained over the two days to help their peers develop leadership skills and to become better leaders in their school and communities.

The seminar ended with a prize giving ceremony where the club’s founder and CEO presented participants with Certificates of Participation.
