The course, which was held under the Adult and Continuing Education Zone nine Bequia, had been specifically requested by the participants.

The appreciation of the participants was palpable, as many expressed their gratitude to zonal coordinator Terah Smith for her dedication in getting this programme for the zone and her encouragement and often humorous words of wisdom during the course.

Course facilitator Kulea King-Tannis was also praised for her knowledge, patience and commitment to ensuring that each participant produced their best.

A release from the organizers said the enthusiasm and dedication to this course shone brightly in the quality of the cakes and designs produced by the participants. Many persons in attendance marvelled at the work produced from a basic class in just seven weeks, from participants who at the beginning could not even ice a cake.

“Most of the participants were business oriented and wanted to produce a more professional product. Through the use of the electronic media, many participants now enjoy an increase in demand for their product. Many other persons wanted to join the course, but because of limited space they were declined the opportunity.”

The organizers expressed thanks to the Adult and Continuing Education Unit (Ministry of Education) and to those business places who contributed to making the course a success, especially Knights Trading Ltd and Keegan’s Beach Resort Bequia.
