Campbell passed away on April 29, 2013. He served his country for 33 and a half years as a police officer.

During his tenure he worked at several outstations and at the Fire Department for a number of years, up until his retirement on November 20, 2002, at age 54.

He was enlisted as a member of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force on April 28, 1969, and worked his way up to the rank of Inspector, a promotion he received on September 1, 1999.

A release from the police public relations department said the Commissioner of Police and other ranks of the Police Force extend condolences to the relatives and friends of the late Frederick Alexander Campbell.

Former Superintendents of Police Leroy Latchman and Cecil Scott were laid to rest during the month of April 2013.
