They started their journey in Spring Village, chanting “Today is Earth Day; we’re planting trees to repay” along the way, and ended in Fitz Hughes.

The activities were held to spread knowledge about the environment and protecting earth’s biodiversity.

Monday marked the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day. The first Earth Day was launched April 22, 1970 in the USA. In 1971, the United Nations made Earth Day an international day of celebration, but the first international Earth Day wasn’t officially celebrated until 1990.

4H is a youth development organization dedicated to helping youth learn, grow and work together to create positive change. The club member’s pledge is “I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world.”
