On Sunday, April 14, members and the congregation of the church participated in, and witnessed a groundbreaking ceremony, which signalled preparation for the construction of a new building at Gardens Gate, in Kingstown.

The doors of the church swung open in May 1977, five months after United States baptist missionary Don Overstreet came to St Vincent and the Grenadines on a church-planting mission.

Last week’s ground turning was done by members of the church, including its pastor Dr Cecil Richards, Sylvia Sutherland, Keira Barnwell, the youngest member of the church and Sheila McDonald, one of the first and oldest members of the church.
