Vincentian poets and aspiring poets to compete in annual Noel Prize for Poetry 2013


Vincentian poets and would-be poets are being invited to compete in the annual Noel Prize for Poetry.{{more}}

This year, the participants will convene at the UWI Open Campus in Kingstown, where they will sit and write one poem on a given topic.

Poems can be no less than 20 lines, no more than 24; the poem cannot be prose and the poem must be laced with poetic devices; the writer chooses from whatever angle he/ she wishes to tackle the topic; the writer has no recourse to any other material but a pen/pencil and paper; all materials will be supplied.

The competition will take place on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The winner of this year’s contest will be announced later this year. The winner will receive $500 dollars and a certificate declaring him or her the winner. Consolation prizes will be given for 2nd and 3rd place.
