CED/BIMAP to hold Negotiating Skills seminar


The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc (CED), in collaboration with the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP), will host a one-day seminar on Negotiating Skills later this month.{{more}}

The seminar is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 18. It is designed to give participants a step by step guide to effective and skillful negotiation, through the application of techniques and approaches which positively influence the outcome of any negotiation process. It would be conducted by BIMAP lecturer David Carrington.

During the seminar, participants will be taken through a range of topics, including: What is Negotiation; Types of Negotiation; Theoretical Approaches to Negotiation; Characteristics of Good Negotiators; Effective Negotiation Skills; Negotiation Tactics; Common Negotiation Mistakes; Negotiation Dilemmas; Improving Your Negotiating Skills; Mediation, Conciliation and Arbitration; the Role of a Labour Department/Arbiter in Negotiations; among others.

The Negotiating Skills seminar takes place at the Ministry of Health Conference Room, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
