Georgietha “Aunty G” Nanton, president of the Aunty G Charitable Children’s Organization (AGCCO) said a number of top local entertainers are slated to entertain the hundreds of youngsters and their family members, as the event moves to a new location — the Chili Playing Field.

“In previous years we held it at my home in Langley Park, but this year we will be incorporating the children’s party with our family fun day, which will be bigger than ever,” Nanton said.

Nanton said Kayz Kruz, Queen B and Gideon James are among the artistes slated to perform, along with national dance champions Ground Breakers.

Other attractions will include bouncing castles, face painting, credit giveaways from sponsors Digicel, as well as a number of costumed characters, including Santa Claus.

“The first 200 children entering the park dressed in red or white will receive a free gift from Santa,” Nanton added.

“We also received some beautiful toys, from the New York Cultural Group in the United States, which we will be handing out.”

A football match between Aunty G’s Rodox football team and Com Sports Masters will also be a featured attraction at the fun day, which begins at 2 p.m.

Nanton, who pointed out that the children’s party is in its sixth year, said proceeds raised at the event go towards charity in the area and beyond.

She indicated that a similar event is scheduled to take place in the Sion Hill area later this year.

“This event could not be possible without the help of our many sponsors and I would like to thank them for their generosity during this season, and I know the children would be especially grateful,” Nanton said. (JJ)
