The CPED seminar began on Monday and ends tomorrow at the Colonarie Learning Resource Centre.

It caters for 25 small business owners and operators from Byera, Gorse, Colonarie, Park Hill, South Rivers, and Mt Grenan.

CED developed CPED to help rural communities to generate wealth by equipping residents with the necessary knowledge and skills to start and operate successful businesses, the CED said in a release.

CPED provides a forum for participants to acquire information that would be required before engaging in a business activity, and seeks to facilitate the development of an enterprise culture in St Vincent and the Grenadines, through the creation of viable micro and small enterprises and in the growth and development of such existing businesses.

At the end of the seminar, participants will have a better understanding of how to select and develop a business idea, marketing, financial management, including record keeping and costing, and human resource management skills for small businesses, the CED further stated.

In September, 26 persons completed a CPED training conducted for the Georgetown Craft Makers Association.
