At the event, 1,300 Soroptimists from around the globe assembled in one place for the main conference at the Waterfront Hall and social events at the Europa Hotel and Titanic Belfast.

Soroptimist International is a worldwide service organisation for women, committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.

Dr Christopher Stange, honorary consul for St Vincent and the Grenadines to Northern Ireland, welcomed the delegation.

“It is wonderful to have SVG represented and a voice in as many arenas as possible,” he said.

“I would like to commend the excellent work being conducted by all members of the SVG Soroptimist Chapter. With Argyle international airport on plan and tourism development initiatives by government, the obvious potential of the airport is being able to host similar international events at home, highlighting our great nation to the world.”
