Apostolic Faith Mission aiming at a fourth title

Seven churches will try to dethrone defending champion Apostolic Faith Mission of Bequia in the finals of the fourth annual SVG Independence Bible Festival, which is scheduled to take place this weekend.{{more}}

The Apostolic Faith Mission, who will be going for their fourth title in a row, will be up against the Bethel Gospel Assembly Georgetown, Church of God of Prophecy, Faith Temple Church, Streams of Power Sion Hill, Vermont Miracle Tabernacle and the Kingdom Life Tabernacle, a release from the organizers said.

The finals of the Bible Festival, which will take place at the Faith Temple Church in New Montrose tonight and on Sunday night, will see competition in Impromptu Speech, Bible Boxing, Quizzes and Bible Drama.

In the Impromptu Speech category, the finalists are: Marsha Gregg of the Apostolic Faith Mission, Lizroy Bacchus of the Bethel Gospel Assembly, Kelmore Hadaway of Vermont Miracle Tabernacle, Denice Pompey of the Streams of Power Church and Alyssa-Ann Laborde of the Church of God of Prophecy.

In Bible Boxing: Denika Compton, Esther Creese and Alayna Dublin will all battle defending champion Joy Mayers of the Streams of Power Church.

The new section, Bible Drama, which was added this year, will feature Clerisse Derrick of the Apostolic Faith Mission, Josette Barker of the Bethel Gospel Assembly, Alayna Dublin of Church of God of Prophecy, Steafan Taylor of Vermont Miracle Tabernacle and Samantha Diamond of the Kingdom Life Tabernacle, the release said.

In the quizzes, the Apostolic Faith Mission, Bethel Gospel Assembly, Faith Temple Church, Vermont Miracle Tabernacle and the Kingdom Life Tabernacle will compete over six rounds.

The SVG Independence Bible Festival, which was developed in 2009 and is being organized by the SVG Gospel Fest Committee, is being held under the theme: “Wisdom through the word of God”
