On Tuesday, Laurie Hoyte and Adrian Primus received one off donations of $800 each, from Cuthbert Lee, the brother of Sharmine, after whom the scholarship is named.

Sharmine, a former student of the Girls’ High School, died in 1996 at the age of 15 after a brief illness.

The Barrouallie student is remembered by her siblings Cuthbert and Sharma Lee, who have offered the scholarship for the past three years.

Hoyte, a former student of the Georgetown Primary School, will be attending the Girls’ High School at the beginning of the new school year, while Primus, who previously attended the Barrouallie Primary School, will attend the St. Vincent Grammar School.
