Dr Leonard Dreifus, MD, MACC, was the commencement speaker.

Steven R. Wilson, Chancellor and school Founder, led the opening of the ceremony and welcomed the graduates and assembled guests.

“I am very proud and excited to welcome our charter class graduates to their final function as a member of the student body, on behalf of our board, shareholders and administration. And today, you officially carry the title of Doctor of Medicine, a title you have earned. You have our gratitude and our respect.”

Dr W. Douglas Skelton, Dean and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, then addressed the graduates and reminded all in attendance of the uniqueness of the day’s event.

“I welcome you to the first and only charter class graduation; there will never be another. There will be other graduations in a few months, but there will never be another graduating class where everything they did educationally, they did for the first time.”

Honoured guest and dignitary, Sir Frederick Ballantyne, MD, Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines, invoked tremendous applause from the audience as he shared his thoughts with the graduates.

“I don’t think any words can express how proud I as a doctor, or I as a Vincentian, feel about your graduating today. You know, you’ve made us all so very, very proud. And in fact you’re not only the charter class of Trinity; you’re the charter class of St Vincent and the Grenadines.”

The commencement festivities concluded with a reception for the graduates and guests.
