CXC announces new initiatives at seminar


Several Journalists across the OECS and Barbados were informed of the New CXC initiatives along with advancements and structures of the examining body,{{more}} during a one-day workshop at the Alexander Court in Barbados on Monday March 5, 2012.

Journalists were briefed on several topics including the Governance Structure of CXC, CXC’s qualification framework and its Strategic Direction.

Journalists were also informed about the several examinations offered by CXC which include the CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination), CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate), the CVQ (Caribbean Vocational Qualification), the CCLSC (Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence) and the newest initiative the CPEA (Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment.)

Additionally, CXC announced new initiatives includinig the new Regional Nursing Administration and New CAPE offerings. They also given clarity on several issues and programmes at CXC.

The presenters of the Seminar included Susan Giles and Gordon Harewood Senior Assistant Registrars, Assistant Registrars Cleveland Sam and Diane Medford. Journalists Susan Lewis and Omesha Spence of the News Newspaper and the Searchlight Newspaper respectively, represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Seminar.(OS)
