Winners of Police Co-operative Raffle collect their prizes

Balico Duncan was able to present his mother with a trip for two to the Tamarind Beach Hotel in Canouan, having won the first prize in the Police Co-operative Credit Union raffle.{{more}}

Duncan and the second and third place ticket holders collected their prizes on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Central Police Station.

Duncan of Bequia, in addition to the weekend trip to Canouan, received a Dell Laptop and an account with a $150 deposit, at the Police Co-operative Credit Union.

Duncan stated that he was excited about winning his prizes. He added that he was shocked when he found out he had secured the first prize. He further stated that he was giving the trip to his mother who smiled beside him as he accepted his prizes.

Spring Village resident Dawn Stephen Sutherland expressed gratitude to the Police Co-operative Credit Union for the prizes she received. Stephen Sutherland, who placed second in the raffle, walked away with a 32 inch Television and a DVD player. Stephen Sutherland stated that it was the first time she had ever won anything and added that she would be placing her new Television and DVD player in her bedroom. Stephen Sutherland also received an account at the credit union.

Neal Jackman intends to share his prize with others. Jackman, who secured the third place in the raffle, won a food hamper valued at $1,000, and an account at the Police Co-operative Credit Union. Jackman, who stated that the prize was timely, considering the hike in food prices. He also thanked the credit union for his prizes.

President of the Credit Union Brenton Cain, congratulating the winners, stated that the raffle was just one of the ways in which the Police Co-operative Credit Union intended to reach out to the community. He added that it was not only a marketing strategy, but a way for persons to become associated with the union. Smith also stated that the credit union intends to have more activities focused on community outreach.(OS)
