The next Event in the Calendar of activities to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year will be the hosting of the Jubilee Lecture on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Frenches House, Kingstown.{{more}}

The keynote speaker invited to deliver the Jubilee Lecture is Sir Ronald Sanders, Consultant, Writer and former Senior Caribbean Diplomat.

Sir Ronald has served in both the private sector and the public sector. He served on several boards of directors of media, telecommunications, banking and sustainable forestry companies in Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Barbados, Guyana and U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the Public Sector, he was High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Barbados, Guyana and U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the Public Sector, he was High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom 1984-87 and 1996-2004 and Ambassador to the World Trade Organisation 1997 – 2004 and as an elected member of the Executive Board of UNESCO (1985 – 1987).

In 2010, Sir Ronald was appointed as one of 10 members of an Eminent Persons Group (EPG) of the Commonwealth, and in 2011 was invited by President Carter to become a member of the Friends of the Democratic Center.

The Lecture takes place at Frenches House from 8:00 p.m. He will speak on the Topic “The Modern Commonwealth – its relevance to St. Vincent and the Grenadines – a Small Island Developing State”.

The general public is invited to attend.
