Open to secondary schools students in forms three and four, the mandate of RBC/RBTT Young Leaders is to help young people develop leadership skills, foster care for the community and the environment, and promote thrift toward strengthening the social, moral, and economic well-being of the society.

This year’s theme, “Climate Change: Global Phenomenon, Community Solutions”, encourages Young Leaders to effect positive change in the behaviours and attitudes of communities by developing and implementing sustainable initiatives to reduce their environmental footprints.

Climate change is a priority environmental issue for RBC/RBTT, and presents environmental, social, and financial challenges to the global economy, human health and our own communities.

Registration is currently open to all secondary schools. The coveted RBC/RBTT Challenge Trophy, currently held by the St. Vincent Grammar School, will be ‘up for grabs’ in addition to a number of cash awards, book vouchers and other gift items.

“Remain on stream with your projects,” is the advice given by Anna-Maria Kurbanali, RBC’/RBTTs Regional Manger of Corporate Responsibility. She encourages current participants to, “stay focused and make a consistent effort to work toward completing your projects.”

A release from the RBC/RBTT said “Reducing our ecological footprint is one of the RBC/RBTT’s main and the company is happy to encourage our Young Leaders along the path of sustainability; ensuring that we meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.”
