Lyttle and Isles, along with several other students of the KPS, displayed their talent before judges as the Preliminaries of the Festival kicked off on February 1, 2012, at the school.

Students sang lustily, while some performed instrumentals and others entertained with dance as the audience of classmates received them with appreciation and applauded their efforts. Lyttle sang the “You are God Alone,” while Isles performed a Pan solo.

Judge Ken Isles, giving a review of the performances, stated the singers had strong voices, but needed encouragement as some were still timid.

Sponsor of the programme Camille Crichton of the Professional Secretarial Services Inc. stated that she hopes that this year’s festival will be as successful as those of previous years. She added that out of the 66 schools across St Vincent and the Grenadines, 62 have confirmed their participation, including all the schools in the Grenadines.

The preliminaries will run until March 1, with the grand finale taking place on March 6 and 7, 2012, at the Peace Memorial Hall.(OS)
