Cancer Society gets Coreas boost

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Breast Cancer Society has received high praise from Coreas and Hazels Brand Manager for Seven Seas, John-Paul Antoine,{{more}} for their commitment towards heightening the awareness of the disease among Vincentians.

Antoine made the acknowledgement following the presentation of a cheque valued EC$584 to Glena Mathews, Executive member of the SVG Breast Cancer Society.

The handing over ceremony took place on Tuesday, January 10, at Coreas Food Division, located on Bay Street.

The Seven Seas Brand Manager said he is aware that it is not an easy task for nonprofit organizations such as the SVG Breast Cancer Society to continue their day to day operations without any generated income and “that’s one of the reasons the promotion was launched.”

In October last year, Seven Seas and Coreas and Hazels Inc teamed up to launch the “Seven Seas think pink” breast cancer awareness promotion.

Antoine explained that a special packaged Seven Seas product was selected for the promotional period and for every bottle of that product which was sold, US$0.60 cents was donated towards to SVG Breast Cancer Society.

Antoine, said 365 bottles were sold.

The promotion, according to Antoine was not only done here, but throughout the Caribbean region where Seven Seas distribute their products.

Upon accepting the cheque, Mathews expressed gratitude to Coreas and Hazels Inc and Seven Seas for making the donation.

Annually, the month of October is recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
