According to a release from Junior Bacchus of the CCM, the picket is designed at highlight the recent upsurge of crime and violence in our society.

“As our society continues to degenerate before our eyes, it is our responsibility to stand up and be heard on the issues that affect our families, our communities and us,” the release said.

“Although I am sure that we all are privately horrified by what is happening to our beloved homeland, as a community we have been extremely silent. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is ours, and if we continue to abdicate our social responsibility with our crime of silence, we will be contributing to the problem. It is our hope that if we sing as one mass choir we can galvanize those in authority into action. Something must be done to make our roads, villages and communities safe.

“This is not a political movement. We are just a group of concerned citizens who believe that something must be done to make our communities safe,” the release ended.

The picket will begin at 10:00 am and end at 2:00 pm.
