Bureau of Standards to host workshop today


The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Bureau of Standards (SVGBS), from today, is hosting a two-day training workshop on the Principles of the ISO 9000 standard – Quality Management Systems (QMS) at the conference room of the Fisheries Division (upstairs the Fish Market) from 9:00 a.m.{{more}}

The ISO 9000 is a series of international harmonized standards that specifies requirements for a quality management system, where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. It is aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

The training workshop is being sponsored by European Union, through the Technical Action Services Unit (TASU) of the CARICOM Secretariat and will be facilitated by Delphi Consultants Ltd of Trinidad and Tobago.

The workshop targets the SVGBS senior staff, as well as stakeholders from the manufacturing and industrial sector.
