The program for the afternoon will include a keynote address by a representative from the Ministry of Education, remarks by Headteacher Edmie Charles, a cultural presentation by the elected Student Librarians, and a multimedia information session on using the library as a sustainable educational resource. Students, teachers, parents, family members and community supporters are invited to attend the event.

The development of this library project has spanned over the last several years, with support from the Ministry of Education, United States Peace Corps, and the international NGO Hands Across the Sea.

The new Library now houses over 1,500 books, ranging from pre-Kindergarten level reading material to adult fiction, and encyclopedic reference sets. The purpose of the library is to help promote literacy, critical thinking, and creative education development for the students of Chateaubelair Methodist School.
