Bequia Tourism Association hosts first primary schools Public Speaking competition

In an effort to promote Tourism Week, the Bequia Tourism Association hosted its first Public Speaking competition amongst three primary schools in Bequia.{{more}}

Students were asked to speak on the topic “Preserving and promoting our culture through tourism”, along with a prepared speech and an impromptu topic.

A student of the Paget Farm Government School, Roella Bynoe, made her school and community proud by becoming the winner of the historic competition. Bynoe won the Given Speech category as well as the Prepared Speech category speaking on the topic “Homework”.

Paradise Primary School participant Tamara Woodley grabbed the top position in the impromptu category speaking on the topic “Internet” and placed second. The other participant was Ronecia Henry from the Bequia Anglican Primary School.

Bynoe won the Challenge trophy, six days free Internet from an internet café, and an opportunity to board a cruise ship, along with other prizes.(DC)
