A release from the Association said the road show is in solidarity with International Month to end violence against women and to end violence against women and children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Human Rights Association is deeply concerned with the high incidence of violence being committed against our women, which has resulted in death and mutilation.

“The Association is also troubled by the high incidence of sexual assault being committed against women and children and calls on citizens to end violence in the household and in the society. The SVG Human Rights Association continues to make a call for safe houses and homes to be made available to women who are battered and abused and children who have been abused and sexually assaulted,” the release said.

This Friday, November 25, 2011, the Human Rights Association will travel to the Leeward side of the Island and around Kingstown to “bring the message of Domestic Violence and sexual offences, as part of the Association’s support for International Month to end violence against women”.
