NDP annual convention Sunday

The position of President will be the only one standing unopposed as the New Democratic Party (NDP) holds its annual convention this weekend.{{more}}

The Convention takes place this Sunday, November 20, at the New Democratic Party Headquarters at Richmond Hill in Kingstown.

Party leader and Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace announced that his post will remain intact when elections take place to determine who will sit on the party’s Executive for the next year.

Positions up for grab include that of General Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Treasurer and Vice President among others.

Eustace, speaking at a press conference called by the party on Wednesday, November 16, indicated that apart from the elections, there will be a special moment of prayer during the convention, as well as the honoring of at least one person from each constituency, the keynote address to be delivered by him, and entertainment.

The Convention, is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to end at 5:00 p.m.
