22 local bartenders attend Log Enterprises/Angostura training course

Twenty-two local bartenders are how better trained.{{more}}

LOG Enterprises in collaboration with Angostura Ltd held a two-day Bartenders Training Course at the Pearl Restaurant and Bar in Kingstown on November 8 and 9, 2011.

The training saw twenty 22 bartenders from various hotels and bars and was conducted by Raymond Edwards, the Mixologist for Angostura Ltd.

A brief history was given of Angostura Ltd, followed by the process of making rums through fermentation and distillation.

The learning objectives were: Understanding the physiology of alcohol; History of cocktails and the role of Angostura Aromatic Bitters played in transforming the cocktail; Understanding the process of rum making; Identify Bar Equipment and their functions; Identify types of glassware used for cocktails; Create garnishes and determine suitability for drinks; Learn different techniques for creating cocktails; Recipe writing and knowledge application.

At the end of the training session, participants were given certificates.
