Lavia crowned K.G.S. Princess 2011


The Kingstown Government School, located at Stoney Ground, held its Annual Independence Princess pageant on Tuesday, October, 25, 2011.{{more}} Eight beautiful contestants entered the keenly contested competition.

At the end of this pageant, which also saw Guest Artiste the Vibrating Scakes entertaining the well satisfied audience, the Chief Judge announced the winners – 2nd Runner up – Alissa Rock, 1st Runner up – Lonasha Carter and the K.G.S. Princess 2011 Julicia Lavia.

The 1st Independence Princess Gabricia Yorke crowned the new Princess, Julicia, who was sashed by Headteacher Maureen Brackin and presented with a trophy by Karleen Douglas.

The Staff and Students of the K.G.S. expressed their thanks to the parents and students who participated in this event.

The categories of the show were: Introduction, wearing National Symbols, in which the contestants introduced themselves and spoke about the national symbol they represented. The next was Local Sportswear, followed by the National Dress and an Interview on Local History.
