Even if it means coming like a thief in the night to confiscate unlicensed firearms, Commissioner of Police says that is the way the police will go.{{more}}

Speaking at the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Campden Park on Sunday, October 9 at a Peace Rally put on by the National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP), Miller reminded persons with unlicensed firearms to bring them in to the police.

“I think they are not coming in fast enough. If they fail to bring them in, remember we would come for them, even if it means coming like a thief in the night,” Miller announced.

He noted that the law makes provision for the police to search at any hour of the day or night.

“…So I can tell persons who intend to continue to commit and feel that having a firearm in their hands gives them that power and that matureness and don’t want to resolve their conflict anymore, we as a police force will not rest until persons who are criminal minded, desist from doing that,” Miller added.

He urged persons to cooperate with the police in an effort to bring peace to communities.(KW)
