Education officers better equipped for ICT in education


Education Officers are now better equipped to monitor and supervise the ICT in Education initiative, following a two-week workshop on ICT Integration.{{more}}

The training, which culminated on Thursday, September 29, was a mixture of theoretical knowledge, practical experience in the use of ICT tools and development of the skills that would allow Education Officers to adequately supervise, monitor and coach teachers as they integrate ICT in their lessons.

The sessions covered Lesson planning and the role of ICT in learning; ICT tools and their role in supporting learning; Monitoring and coaching.

The officers engaged in planning ICT-enabled lessons and delivered them in a range of subject areas in selected primary and secondary schools.

The sessions were facilitated by Jamaican Howard Campbell, a member of the European Union Technical Assistance Team and an expert in Technology Integration.
