The children were selected from three schools which are located in the rural areas that were mostly affected by the passage of Hurricane Tomas earlier this year.

The selected children are: Tamara Lowman and Ricy Byron from the Langley Park Government School; Brittany Gropper and Valerene Franklyn of Dickson Methodist School; Wallicia Brown and Zackery Glasgow of the Georgetown Government School.

Addresses were heard from the Chairman of the Board of SVG Solidarity in Action Inc Renwick Rose who gave a brief background of the emergence of SVG Solidarity in Action Inc. and outlined future plans and programmes for the organization. Other members of the Board also encouraged the parents to pay special attention to their children’s education and general upbringing as they are about to enter secondary schools.

The children were urged to make extra efforts at studying as they enter their secondary level of education and to stay alert and vigilant at the same time.
