“We fully support the CEO and the work that he does for us,” Cozier said during a press conference Wednesday, July 20.

“There is really no one else as qualified as Mr Glen Beache to hold this position,” she continued.

The sentiment was expressed following a press conference held on Monday, July 18, by the Opposition Leader, Arnhim Eustace, where he disclosed information relating to a company set up by Beache.

According to Eustace, the company set up by Beache also included as its directors Kenrick Attale and Christine James of Lonsdale Saatchi and Saatchi, the public relations and marketing company currently contracted to promote this country’s tourism package, which constituted a conflict of interest.

Eustace also made calls for Beache to resign immediately from his position as the CEO for the Tourism Authority.

But Cozier contended that there was no one else in the country with the qualifications and experience to do the job.

“The Board fully supports Mr Beache as the CEO of the Tourism Authority; nothing has changed our confidence in him,” Cozier said.

“We all stand behind him – we feel he has done nothing wrong,” she continued.

The Tourism Authority’s chairman further explained that Beache had in fact informed the Board that he had registered a company and had given the assurance that there was no activity in the company’s bank account.

“The bank account was never opened and never operated,” she said, adding that they had full confidence in Beache. (DD)
