The session will be held in the Conference Room of the Professional Secretarial and Consultancy Services, located on Halifax Street, Kingstown.

At the open registration session, which commences at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., prospective candidates will be able to complete applications online or on application forms available at the location. Starting September 2011, qualified applicants from St. Vincent will be able to pursue one of four accredited bachelor’s degrees being offered by the University College of the Caribbean in St. Vincent. The bachelor’s degrees being offered are in the areas of Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and Marketing. Students have the option of studying in a traditional classroom setting in St. Vincent or in the UCC Online environment. UCC Online is a hybrid (online/on campus) programme, which allows students to take advantage of both online learning interaction and interaction with experienced faculty during evening sessions. The online facility also allows students to maintain full-time employment while studying for their degrees. Applications for the UCC degree programmes close July 29.

Prospects may also visit the open registration session on Halifax Street to apply to pursue UCC’s Executive Master’s in Business Administration or its Executive Master’s in Public Administration. Classes for these programmes are expected to be offered in the UCC Online (blended format), starting in October. The closing date for applications for the Executive Master’s degrees is September 1, 2011.

Interestingly, UCC is also exploring the option of offering the Bachelor’s degree in Law online. The LLB is a University of London degree, delivered by UCC at its main campus in Jamaica.

The University College of the Caribbean came into existence through a merger of two of Jamaica’s premier tertiary institutions, the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) formed in 1972, and the Institute of Management and Production (IMP) formed in 1976. The College has been in operation since 2004 and is recognised by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ).
