Vincies setting records in Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force

Seven Vincentians created history on Friday, June 24, 2011, when for the first time they were a part of a group promoted in the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force, with the most promotions on a single occasion for Vincentians in that organization.{{more}}

Pascal Bacchus was promoted to Assistant Superintendent and second in command of the Marine Branch, while Everett Warrican and Shorn Billingy were promoted to Inspector.

Allan Scipio was promoted to Sergeant and given the responsibility for a new department in the Police Force called the Street Crime Unit. The Drugs Squad also falls under his command.

Promoted to the rank of Acting Sergeants are Esmond Dick, Alston Providence and Robin Williams.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force is headed by Colin Farquhar, a new Commissioner of Police, who was sworn in to the post on March 15, 2011.

He set about reforming the Police Force shortly after his appointment.

Faliquar has been described by the Vincentian officers as an individual who believes in meritocracy and fairness.
