Soca comes to the beach this Sunday!


As Vincentians get ready for the most anticipated weekend of Vincy Mas, a new concept has been added to the weekend of festivities.{{more}}

The newly created event, Soca on the Beach, dubbed ‘The After Soca Monarch fete’, will take place on Sunday, July 3 at Rawacou beach from 10:00am.

The event, which is endorsed by the CDC, and was conceptualized by Island Networks , will see a host of local as well as regional/international renowned acts including Grenada’s 2010 Road March and Soca Monarch, Otis with his smash hit ‘Tornado’, Trinidad and Tobago’s Shal Marshal whose hits include ‘Motorbike’ and ‘Police’ and RDX from Jamaica whose hits include ‘Bend Over’ among others.

Featured local acts include the Soca Dans including newcomers Hance, Danielle Veira, Shaunelle Mac Kenzie as well as Fya Empress, Bomani, Skinny Fabulous, Maddzart and Madd Symphony and Kinetics among others.

Patrons can also expect to enjoy cuisine from various high end restaurants in SVG.

Sources from the event state the idea was conceptualized so as to give locals as well as visitors a unique and additional experience for the weekend along with the other expected events.

Furthermore, organizers have assured the public that life guards will be present on the beach and a shuttle service will also be offered on the morning of the event.
