Lions Club Kingstown hosts Arts and Craft exhibition


Vincentians had a final opportunity to view and purchase locally made arts and craft, last Friday evening, as the third annual Lions Club Kingstown-SVG Arts and Craft exhibition wrapped up.{{more}}

The exhibition, which began on Wednesday, June 22, featured a variety of arts and craft, all done by locals.

The exhibition included work such as jewelry, crochet designs, flower arrangements, handmade cards and plaques and fashion bags, as well as accessories from the following: Dean Gibson, Exquisite Crochet, Flower World, Iris Mounsey, Jacintha Knights, Kathleen Huggins, Marisa Edwards, Merle’s Arts and Craft, National Society of and for the Blind, Norris Naturals, Phillips Divine Designs, Tubb’s Arts and Craft, Vonley Greaves and Yvonne Harold.

At the ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 22, at the Lions Club Headquarters, Sylvia De Freitas, Exhibition Co-ordinator, stated that the main reason for the exhibition is to showcase the talent of Vincentians. She added that it is also an opportunity for persons to build relationships with customers.

Past President Alson Jack stated that the quality of the arts and craft on exhibit, has improved over the years.

Denise Holder, representative of the Ministry of Culture, also commended the Lions Club on their work and also observed that the exhibition showcased the talents of persons across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
