Adams, a Belair resident, was discharged from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) on Sunday, March 27, after spending a week there, nursing multiple stab wounds.

Adams said the incident took place on March 21, while he and his friend, “Ziggy”, were at a shop drinking and having a good time.

Adams, who appeared to be in pain, admitted that he had been intoxicated at the time when he, unintentionally, knocked the sunglasses to the ground, causing them to get broken.

“The man get real mad when I throw down the shades. I say, well, I could buy back your shades, cause is just about $15. …He like he na bin satisfied, so he tek up a bottle and buss me head, then stab me,” Adams recalled.

He said he was stabbed repeatedly about his body with the broken bottle. As a result of this, Adams suffered injuries to both hands, the right side of his face and abdomen.

Adams, however, remains adamant that he does not want to the matter to be taken up in court and wants to make amends for everything, by paying for the damaged sunglasses.

His sister, Milicent Adams, expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the police had handled the matter.

Milicent told SEARCHLIGHT that since her brother was admitted to the hospital, he was not visited by the police to take a statement. She also noted that she has reported the matter to the Calliaqua Police Station, but nothing has been done.

When contacted, a police officer at the Calliaqua Police Station disclosed that he did not have any information on the matter, but went on to say that the officers who were dealing with the matter were not at the station.
