Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has told Vincentians to blame the Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace when they are unable to get visas.{{more}}

Gonsalves’ remarks were made on Sunday, March 6, in anticipation of more “disorderly” protests from the Opposition.

Gonsalves told Unity Labour Party (ULP) faithful that the NDP’s actions are giving St.Vincent and the Grenadines a “bad name” overseas.

Addressing ULP supporters at Barrouallie, Gonsalves said: “And let me tell you this. If they continue like this, when you go to get a visa and you can’t get the visa, blame it on Eustace, because the people at the Embassy gwine start think of you like Jamaicans, like you violent, like you misbehaving.”

Gonsalves said investors and tourists will also be asking themselves whether they should go to St.Vincent and the Grenadines where the Opposition wants to cause mayhem and disorder.

The Political Leader said there is a section in the leadership of the NDP that are saying to overthrow him by any means necessary.

“That means that is a code word for violence, disorder and mayhem. And I say to you, as their peaceful protests fail, the voices of ‘by any means necessary’ will become more attractive and that is why you saw the confusion last Thursday,” said Gonsalves.

He cautioned the NDP leadership that confusion cannot get their Party into office, as it would only cause it to lose support.

Gonsalves said the way that Eustace and his team have behaved, they have lost the support of Caribbean people and Vincentians throughout the world.

“Mark my words, they are going to try to be more disorderly, the NDP that is, and you’re going to have outbreaks of lawlessness that you had on Thursday,” Gonsalves warned.

He said the NDP believes that the present era is like 2000. He said back then, it was the people who “rose up, not the ULP”.

The Prime Minister said the NDP has a “demonic quest” for power and that’s a different story altogether.
