Proprietor of VINCAN Steve Gibson presented a 32-inch flat screen Toshiba television to Luke Browne, the ULP’s candidate in the December 13 General Elections for East Kingstown.

Gibson, who had been living in Canada up until recently, said he had told Hans King, who was tipped to run in East Kingstown, that he wanted to make a donation and King had requested a television for the constituency office.

“I wanted to do something for my constituency,” said Gibson. He said that as his business grows, he is hoping to give a bit more to the constituency.

He said jokingly: “My dream wasn’t met when I said I wanted to see a certain man crying on it.”

Browne, accepting the television on behalf of the office, said it is always good when constituents can contribute to the development of the constituency. He praised the Gibson family of Dorsetshire for always rallying behind the ULP.

Browne who will be returning to the United Kingdom to complete his studies said that Fernando Serieux will be managing the affairs of the constituency while he is away. He promised that it will be organized effectively until the next General Elections.

“This television is given so that we can watch the next General Elections results,” said Browne, as he expressed the hope that the outcome would be a desired victory.
