The workshop serves as a mean of informing and enlightening singers about an Environmental Song Competition that is slated to take place in March of this year. The song competition is opened to all singers above the age of sixteen (16). Participants of this competition will get a chance to win $5000.00 cash.

Persons attending the workshop on January 22nd will be given first hand information in regard to the criteria and guidelines for participation in the environmental singing competition.

Both activities, the workshop and song competition, are part of a project entitled, “Capacity Strengthening for Community Management of Resources for Sustainable Development”, funded by the Organisation of American States (OAS). The aim of this project is to strengthen the basis for participatory and collaborative approaches to community development, in the process of pursuing alternative livelihoods, while addressing issues of gender, democracy and equality.
