Permanent Secretaries reshuffled

There has been a reshuffling of permanent secretaries under the new Dr.Ralph Gonsalves led administration.{{more}}

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, headed by Minister Montgomery Daniel, has a new permanent secretary.

Former permanent secretary Alan Alexander has been replaced by Nathaniel Williams, who moved from the former Ministry of Rural Transformation, Information, Public Service, and Ecclesiastical Affairs.

Shirla Francis has been placed in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, led previously by Minister Dr.Douglas Slater. This ministry has been expanded to include Wellness and is now under the leadership of Minister Cecil ‘Ces’ McKie. Francis was permanent secretary in the Ministry of Telecommunications, Science, Technology, and Industry, headed by Dr.Jerrol Thompson. Francis replaces former permanent secretary Lanceford Weekes, who has been transferred to the Prime Minister’s office, where he will work on special projects.

Luis de Shong, the former permanent secretary in Ministry of Transport and Works, previously headed by Minister Clayton Burgin, has been transferred to the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Physical Planning and Land and Surveys, now headed by Burgin.

Kenrick Glynn, the former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Lands Surveys, Physical Planning and Local Government, is the new permanent secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Works, Urban Development and Local Government, under the leadership of Minister Julian Francis.

Sandra Davis, permanent secretary in the former Ministry of Urban Development, Labour, Culture and Electoral Matters, under former Goverment Minister René Baptiste, goes to the new Ministry of National Reconciliation, the Public Service, Labour, Information, and Ecclesiastical Affairs, headed by Minister Maxwell Charles.

Nicole Bonadie-Baker remains the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, headed by Girlyn Miguel, who is also the new Deputy Prime Minister.

Andreas Wickham, the permanent secretary in the previous Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade under former Deputy Prime Minister Sir Louis Straker, remains in that ministry, now called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Consumer Affairs, headed by Minister Douglas Slater.

Rosita Snagg stays as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social Development, Local Government, Gender Affairs, Family Affairs, Persons with disabilities and Non Governmental Organisations with the added portfolios of Youth, Sports, and Culture. She will serve as the permanent secretary to Frederick Stephenson.

Permanent Secretary Godfred Pompey has remained in the Ministry of Finance, National Security, Grenadines Affairs, with the added portfolio of Telecommunications, headed by Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves.(HN)
