The event dubbed “A tribute to Danos” will see a large gathering of karaoke fans turn out to pay tribute to the Danos. It will be held at the Country Ranch at the Cross Country Radio at 8.00 p.m.

Admission is free.

Fans of Danos attending the event will have over 5,000 Karaoke songs to choose from as they serenade the living legend of karaoke. They will also have the opportunity to publicly pay him compliments or bring greetings and best wishes.

The event will also allow karaoke singers an opportunity to vie for a spot in the Grand Finale of Country Music Karaoke Idol Contest which will take place on January 29, 2011.

A press release from the Next Level Promotions, organizers of the event, states that Danos is being honoured at a time when the karaoke paradigm is shifting from an era when its true potential was not recognized and was used mainly for fun by operators and singers alike.

The release also states that Karaoke is now a serious art form, with professional operators who take advantage of technology and singers who compete for substantial gains.

Danos, who is described as a man “who gave unselfishly of himself to entertain us for over 20yrs”, has contributed greatly to the popularization of Karaoke entertainment in SVG.

The Next Level country club’s aim is to develop the Country music art-form in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Persons who wish to participate in the final of the Country Music Karaoke Idol contest can collect registration forms at the Music Centre and Cross Country Radio Sweet Gold Diner.
