Rillan Hill CD vendor found dead with shot to head

“Ah going on a business.” Those were the last words Janice Edwards heard her nephew, Shawn “Darkie/Pony” Gordon, say to her before his body was found one day later at Edinboro.{{more}}

Gordon, 28, a CD vendor of Rillan Hill, was discovered face down with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head, in an area known as Neverson Gap, Edinboro, at 9: 15 p.m. on Sunday, December 19.

On passing Isles Boutique, one was sure to find Gordon playing different musical genres all week.

A distraught Edwards, is still however, wondering why Gordon was shot and killed. “I don’t know he had anything with anyone. He never told me about any of that,” she said.

Edwards said she was at her home on Sunday night when she received the heart wrenching news about her nephew’s death.

“I was home sleeping when an officer called. He ask me if I have High Blood Pressure and then when I say no, he told me Darkie got shot and killed,” Edwards recalled.

Edwards, who cared for Gordon from age 12 after his mother migrated to the USA, said: “I could not hold back the tears. I started screaming and asking, why?” she said.

She said, when she last spoke to Gordon on Saturday, December 18, they had discussed among other things, going to collect a barrel. “He tell me we go meet in town the Monday to go collect the barrels,” she said.

Edwards described Gordon as a humble and respectful individual, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A post -mortem examination is expected to be carried out on the body. Up to press time, investigations were still continuing.
