Relief supplies were purchased and distributed to persons in shelters at Sandy Bay, Langley Park, Chester Cottage and Colonarie in an effort coordinated by the Main Office through the GECCU Georgetown Branch. These Emergency Supplies were to alleviate the strain felt by the approximately 650 persons housed in these three facilities and included not just basic goods such as rice and water, but also juices, pampers, toiletries and other comfort items usually disregarded in daily life.

In addition to continuous aid and disbursement of goods, GECCU also offers its ‘Weathering the Storm’ and ‘Water Tank’ loan facilities to its members as well as assistance through the Social Development Fund through continued damage assessments. As a major corporate citizen, GECCU takes it social responsibility very seriously and remains committed to fulfilling the needs of its members in the recovery effort.
