Both building materials and food products valued at over $150,000 have already been made available for distribution. A spokesperson for the long established trading company stated that the focus was placed on contributing to the national relief effort by donating emergency material that would help to bring people’s lives quickly back to normalcy.

This material includes lumber, hurricane fasteners, locks, paint, canned goods as well as personal care items.

Managing Director, Joel Providence informed the media that the Company which has been part of Vincentian life for more than 150 years, recognises its social responsibility at a national level and was obliged to make this contribution despite its own challenges at this time. Providence went on to say that, in addition to the $150,000 donation in materials, Coreas Hazells has also assisted its own staff who experienced property damage, to the value of $40,000. He intimated that the staff constituted the life-blood of the Company and it was only natural that the affected persons be assisted with a great sense of immediacy and importance.

Several of the Company’s principals including Grace Kennedy, Colgate, Matouks, Banks Breweries, Brunswick, Colcafe, Eve, MacBrides, Robinson Lumber, Dunhill, Trinidad Cement Ltd., made donations towards this collective effort.
