A total of six groups will take part in this year’s National Commercial Bank Theatre Arts Festival at the Peace Memorial Hall.{{more}}

The groups are: E. Com Institute Urban Expression Theatre with their production “Ricochet; Nature Care Agape Theatre with “Bold”; St Vincent Community College (SVCC) Division of Nursing Education with “The New Beginning”; Waves Theatre Guild with “Who is the Traitor”; SVCC Performing Arts Society with “Ask me again” and the Police Drama Club with their production “Better choices”.

The festival officially opened last Friday, October 29, with Urban Expression production, “Ricochet”. However, due to the passage of Hurricane Tomas on October 30 and 31, the group was forced to push back their production to this weekend.

Each group will stage their production for three nights, starting from tonight, with the E. Com Institute Urban Expression Theatre staging their production once more.

President of the group, Sean Frederick, said they are excited to give patrons the full three nights of their production this weekend. He noted that “Ricochet” is the group’s way of bringing a part of history back to life-something he says the audience will thoroughly enjoy.

The Festival will run until December 15 with the official “Drammy Awards Presentation” scheduled for the Peace Memorial Hall.

Speaking at the opening last Friday, Chief Cultural Officer, Anthony Theobalds said it is great that all the groups have shown an interest in participating in this year’s festival and that it shows that culture is alive and well in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Show time is at 8 pm.
