The students, Kiima Roberts, Tana Martin and Israel Carr, were presented with EC$1200, for the 2010 – 2011 school year on Tuesday, September 28, at the Union’s office on Granby Street in Kingstown.

Carr, who topped the Caribbean Examination Council’s CSEC examinations this year, also received a Dell laptop computer.

The former St. Vincent Grammar School student, along with Martin and Roberts, who were both students of the Girls’ High School are currently attending the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College for the next two years.

In early September this year, the KCCU presented four scholarships valued $1,000 a year each, two bursaries worth $600 each, and 41 one off payments of $150 each to primary school students headed to various secondary schools.

A spokesperson of the institution, which celebrates 52 years of existence this year, said that the KCCU is proud of the students and wished them the best at the tertiary level, especially Carr, who had 12 passes with 11 grade ones this year at CSEC.

Tuesday’s cheques were handed over by acting Manager of the union Marcelle Alexander, Board of Directors Treasurer Jerome Deshong and accountant Kemuel King.(JJ)
