Colleen Olliverre, Kellishaw’s mother, told SEARCHLIGHT that she is truly indebted to the people of Barbados for their support and comfort during the difficult time of burying her daughter.

Kellishaw was one of six women who died in the tragic fire at the Campus Trendz store on Tudor Street in Bridgetown on September 3.

Colleen thanks the Government of Barbados, Keith Jones Funeral Home in Barbados, the New Testament Church at River Road and all friends and well-wishers in Barbados. Colleen said the support and love she received from Barbados was appreciated; most of all the hugs and embraces which made her feel loved and “light.”

Colleen said that from the time she arrived at the airport in Barbados, persons were there to console her, offering their condolences and speaking well of her daughter. She said persons in the community also showered her with words of encouragement. She added at one point, she became very frustrated with the funeral plans, at which time the Keith Jones Funeral Home took over, making the process easier for her.

Her gratitude also extends to the Streams of Power Church at Sion Hill, here in St. Vincent, and family and friends here who prayed and offered encouragement and sympathy.

“There are so many persons, I can’t name them,” she said.

Colleen and her family encourage all to seek the Lord while he is near.(OS)
