“It’s a hard working team this year, and we can expect great things from them,” was how one of the coordinating teachers put it during the official launch of the activities Friday, October 30.

Working with the theme “Live long and live well”, activities to promote the physical, spiritual, emotional and cultural wellness are expected to kick off this month, according to group President Franklyn Richardson.

Richardson did not go into much detail, but he noted that a full package was planned to get the message across.

He also noted that he was confident in his team.

“I am very confident with team,” Franklyn told SEARCHLIGHT, adding that the 28 students were focused and working hard.

“We are all focused on achieving our goals,” he added.

“Personally, looking at the young people involved, I am seeing a lot more dedication,” Curtis Greaves, Principal of the school, said.

Greaves said that he was impressed with the initiative taken so far.

“I think the Young Leaders will make a positive impact,” he contended.

He said that he was looking forward to a good end product and noted that he was expecting the group to be successful when asked how confident he was on his group of students in this year’s competition.

“I measure success by the impact, and with the students working together, they can achieve a lot,” he said. (DD)
