Dubbed ‘Who knew new could look so good’, Courts opened its refurbished branch in Kingstown Thursday, October 22.

It is the first major facelift for the store since it opened its doors back in February 1998.

Malcolm Burns, Courts OECS Regional Director flashed back to the grand opening of Courts, noting the emotions in seeing the location and lay out.

“Courts St Vincent back then sported the best look Power House anywhere in the region,” he said.

“Physical changes have been made with an underlying framework of precepts and values, and although there have been modifications, there are unchanging principles that guide the way Courts operates and conducts business,” he added.

“In February 1998, our primary objective was to provide Vincentians with the opportunity to acquire furniture and appliances for their home through our easy and affordable hire purchase credit plans – today we take this a step further to provide customers with even better, more rewarding experience,” Burns explained.

“We are committed to serving the needs of all our consumers in all our markets,” Mario Guerrerro, Courts Caribbean Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said in his presentation.

The changing of their tag line to ‘Bringing Value Home’ is a clear illustration of this point, Guerrerro said. “We continue to provide affordable furniture, home appliances and electronics to the people of St Vincent,” he said.

He further stated that the refurbishment was an indication of the serious commitment of the company to improving the shopping experience.

“In a revolving market place, it is essential for business houses to remain competitive and relevant,” Shafia London, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, said. “They must be willing to make changes to meet the demands of customers,” she added.

She congratulated Courts (St Vincent Ltd).

“The Chamber is proud of Courts.”

“Patience, commitment and service have to be at the same level as your refurbishment is,” London said. “Customer care must continue to improve day by day.”(DD)
